Father's Day

If you’ve spent some time with the Dads of CrossFit Central, you know they are strong, fun and reinventing the meaning of #DadBod. In honor of Father’s Day we asked some of our very own Dad’s to share their thoughts on fatherhood, lessons they would like to pass on, and what habits or components of their lifestyle they are proud to share with their kids.

From the CrossFit Central team to all Dads, Happy Father’s Day.

What is your favorite thing about being a Dad?

Being a father has been the hardest thing I ever had to do but also the greatest gift I have ever been given. The best part about it is watching my daughter learn for herself and seeing her have that bright light moment when she figures it out.

It’s the hardest thing to do as you want to just give them all the answers. However she’s smarter than I am and it’s pretty cool to watch her grow into a intelligent young women.

Thoughts on "Dad Bod?" :)

Ugh. Tough to avoid as you can’t help but snack with them. My daughter and I love movies and eating popcorn and raisinettes. That’s our jam.

She’s my ultimate why when I train. I know I want to be around when she has the big moments in her life. Work hard and eat healthy 80% of the time so that 20% is spent enjoying life with them. However you want to always set a good example.

What lessons do you hope to pass to your children?

She’s in charge. Of everything. Her life, her thoughts, her finances, health, education all of it. I tell her all the time, she’s the boss. I want to empower her to realize her full potential. Be good and kind to people. Travel far and frequent and always consider yourself a student no matter how hold you get.

I really try to teach her that it’s not about looks, it’s about her health. When you’re young, you feel as if you’ll live forever. It’s easy to take your health for granted early in life. Healthy habits go long way. 80-20 rule all the time. Take your fitness in seasons as you would anything else. Sometimes your more focused on it than others however your health is a 365 day thing. Know when to enjoy life but also be intentional with it.

What is your favorite thing about being a Dad?

My heart melting three to four times a week being with my kids and falling in love with them as people. I am a real softy. : )

Thoughts on "Dad Bod?" :)

The struggle is real. Stress lack of sleep and aging causes many stress hormones. With out the proper sleep hydration training nutrition for some of us and back fat, muffin top, and belly fat can just come. That’s what I love what we do to help support men through many stages of life. I started CC when I was 24. Now at 37 I have years of experience and understanding personally on how this works. I love to work on my self and help others.

What lessons do you hope to pass to your children?

Love, compassion, mindset, and tolerance. Positive mental attitude service and live with passion. Working hard is the joy of life not to much not to little.

What is your favorite thing about being a Dad?

My favorite part...is all of it. The good, the bad, the ugly. But the best is watching them struggle, but not quitting, then finally succeeding at whatever they are doing.

Thoughts on "Dad Bod?" :)

I HAVE a dad bod.

What lessons do you hope to pass to your children?

As cheesy as this sounds, live life to it's fullest. Take care of your finances, when you do spend your money, do it on seeing the world. Be kind and loving. Truly be a 'contributing/ useful' person in this crazy world we live.

Food is for fuel, choose wisely and do that more times than not. You can treat yourself occasionally with stuff that we know is not beneficial. Exercise regularly, be active.

The 2019 Dad Bod means having your abs out at the splash pad! Gotta have them arms looking good while pushing the stroller!

What lessons do you hope to pass to your children?

Don’t take anything too serious. Just keep living, learning and enjoying every minute of it!

Fitness and wellness are just as simple and important as hygiene.

What is your favorite thing about being a Dad?

My favorite thing about being a dad is being able to see the reflections of myself. It highlights all my goods and all my wrongs, which helps me be a better version of myself.

Thoughts on "Dad Bod?" :)

Dad bod has always been hilarious to me. We all tell stories to ourselves to justify our actions and how we look, feel and live. Dad bod is a great example of that. Humans created “dad bod” to justify them letting go of themselves. Our gym community is a fantastic example of the fit and hard working dad bod that shows all is possible with hard work and good planning. If you can’t do it yourself, hire someone that can help you.

What lessons do you hope to pass to your children?

The lesson that I hope to pass down is that my story and my path is not his story and his path. He is his own person and I am here to guide and protect him to allow him to play out his cards. Also to leave the world better than he found it. Do his best to care for all living organisms and to not be wasteful.

Working in the fitness industry - what are some healthy habits or components or your lifestyle that you are proud to share with your children?

You are what you tell and believe of yourself. And that, with continuous effort . . . you can achieve most things you set your mind to. He watches every move I make and I am very aware of that. Now that my son is around I work, train, am nicer, more confident, and the role model of the person I hope to run across in todays world, and the person I hope to see in Lion.
